Welcome Message from LP’s PTSA President, Camie Smith

On behalf of the Lone Peak Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA), I am excited to welcome you to the 2016-2017  school year.  As we combine the efforts of parents, teachers, and students, we become a powerful force for change and improvement.  We want to represent each of you as we align our goals with those of the administration, faculty, and students to best meet the needs of our school and community.  The mission of PTSA is to advocate, involve and develop character.  By joining the PTSA, you support valuable programs that inspire our students, as well as create awareness and solutions for specific challenges facing the Lone Peak community.

The following are some of the amazing programs sponsored by the Lone Peak PTSA:

  • Supporting our Faculty – Teacher Appreciation Week, Teacher Dinners, Teacher Grants, and providing volunteers for various school functions
  • Student discount for school dance tickets
  • “Be the Change” Days – Creates unity, understanding, and empowers students to overcome unique challenges
  • “Hope Squad” – Students helping other students
  • Student and Teacher Recognition Awards
  • Student Scholarships
  • “Reflections”- Inspires and celebrates creativity in the arts
  • Lobbying for legislative changes that benefit our school and community

We invite you to support these programs by paying the PTSA fees during online registration at MySchoolFees.com and signing up as a volunteer at Back to School night on Monday, Aug. 18, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.  If you are not available to attend, we welcome volunteers anytime.  Please contact me for more information at csmith@infolo.com.

We value your time and are grateful for any time spent in helping to meet our goals.  Your input is an important part in building and planning programs, and we welcome you to join us at our monthly meetings held the first Wednesday of each month from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the Lone Peak office conference room.  Our first general LP PTSA meeting, where we will introduce the board and vote on the budget, will be Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at 10:00 a.m.  Together we can continue to make Lone Peak a great environment for our students, teachers, staff, and parents in the LP community.

Thanks,

Camie Smith
