Parents,

Driver Education needs your help to spread the word to parents of students who are not in Alpine School District (ASD), but who will have their student take driver education through an ASD school this summer.

ASD will be updating to a new student information system in June 2026. No school in ASD will be able to add new students between June 14, 2026 and August 20, 2026. Please let your neighbors who are either new to the area or who employ alternative education sources for their kids know to plan ahead and register their student before June 14, 2026 if they intend to sign their student up for an ASD driver education program this summer. We appreciate your help!

Also, for ASD students, Driver Education courses for the rest of this year are up on our website, https://ater35.wixsite.com/drivereducation, and we will soon have classes and ranges for 26-27 school year posted. It never hurts to sign up early! Ranges fill up faster than classes do so check out our schedule for range a few months in advance to ensure that you get the session that best fits your needs. New classes start every month and they open early, by the 15th of the month before (so the June class will open on May 15th) so it is to your benefit to sign up early and get the extra time. All classes must close at the same time for every student so the extra time at the beginning is very helpful.

Have questions about driver ed? If you have questions about anything for behind the wheel training - range, road training, and road testing - contact Dan Schoonover at DSchoonover@alpinedistrict.org. Any questions about class can be directed to Allison Terry, ATerry@alpinedistrict.org, or Scott Birrell, SBirrell@alpinedistrict.org.
