LPHS students at a football game

From Principal Tim Thomson:

One of the things I have really enjoyed since coming to Lone Peak is experiencing the school spirit at our games. I love seeing the student section packed, hearing you cheer, watching you celebrate, and seeing the energy you bring to support our teams. That is a big part of what makes Lone Peak special.

I don't want to take any of that away. I want to make it even better.

I put together a short VIDEO to talk about what I hope our student section can be and what it means to Do Rowdy Right. I hope you will take a couple of minutes to watch it.

I want our student section to be a place where you can be loud, have fun, sing, dance, celebrate and create traditions that you will remember long after you graduate. I also want every student to feel welcome, included and safe when they come to a game.

We have had some situations recently involving students throwing things, bringing in confetti cannons, paint and powder, and pushing or moshing in the stands. Some students have been hurt as a result. We also need to make sure we are following the expectations established by the Utah High School Athletic Association. I have attached those GUIDELINES so students and parents can see what is and is not allowed at our sporting events.

Parents, I really need your help. Please take a few minutes to talk with your student. We can do this together. I believe our students are capable of having an incredible student section while also looking out for the people around them.

And students, I want you to know that this is not about administrators trying to take the fun out of your experience. Quite the opposite. I want to work with you to make our student section something that everyone is excited to be part of.

If you have an idea for a new cheer, tradition or something that would make the student section even better, come find me or one of our administrators. We want to hear your ideas.

Let's keep the energy.

Let's keep the school spirit.

Let's create traditions we can be proud of.

Let's look out for each other.

Let's Do Rowdy Right. Let's Stand Uknighted!
